Eric Butthoist Samsung smx-C20 Camcorder Demo
Eric Butthoist an all around motion picture man: titles, make-up, editor,sound engineer and producer. Butthoist demos the Samsung smx-C20 palmcorder. A tiny, good looking camcorder with a 720×480 i resolution .Uses SD cards. Butthoist has a total of 7 of these. None for sale. Very strong stereo audio with a lot of bottom in the tone. Butthoist did make the mistake of touching the Smart Auto button many times making a fluttering sound. Also he was fidgetting with the shutter button making a rattling sound. Butthoist himself admits he never does “hand-held”. All his motion picture and digital camcorders are always on tripods. Butthoist, 62, did an ok job pitching the Samsung smx-C20.

I’ll look into a Samsung like this at Best Buy.
An eccentric old guy, kinda crusty, but he’s sold me. I wish I had 7 camcorders..
what settings are you using as ive have this model and am struggling to get good results?
cheers
@not2vu No
Do you have a mac? if so, can you please tell me how to connect the Samsung-F40 to Imovie?
Squirrel!
@JoshsBlock I used Intelli-Studio since it’s so easy to use,but it is limited.You can certainly use any program that you like.
What did you edit this with? Because when I get this for Christmas, I sure hope that I don’t have to use it’s built in editing program. THANKS (:
@FOTbalazs I don’t think so….but I’m not sure.
can you put lens up to this camera?
@MrPaintball81 Yes…. Transitions are optional of course.
can you cut to sceane to sceane without a efect
@PowahBlasta It does stills,so I think a stop motion could be made.
Can you make stop motions
@rampagedawg It seems fine for everyday sounds,but for singing I don’t know.Wish I could be of more help.
@not2vu is this good to make videos of singing ? is the audio okay?
@not2vu A tripod isn’t really practical for me so maybe I should go with the other camera I’m considering the Canon FS300.
@CowboyPenner It does have 1/16″ stabilization,but that’s not much compared to 1/4″ on more expensive cameras.
I read a review that said this camcorder didn’t have image stabilization and to you use a tripod but this looks really good.
@zoomingtothelemon I’ve never seen that….when finished in Movie Edit,I click the second icon with the Save pop up….that puts in my Library what I upload.
can you please help me with something? when i try to upload a video to youtube using the intelli-sudio program, a message pops up saying “only video files can be uploaded to youtube.” can you help?
yay now i bought the camera, thanks for ur help on the camera advice
@zoomingtothelemon Nothing really,I just leave it on the Smart Auto setting….If you noticed the 720p,it’s not….I used my Flip HD with intelli-studio and it’s said 720p ever since for some reason.
what do you do to get it this high quality?
@zoomingtothelemon Yes, it has quite a few to choose from….Intelli-Studio is a relatively easy to use program that works well with youtube.
does the editing software allow you not to have transition effects?
Hello not2vu i just brought the samsung smx-f40 today and i just am wondering what settings do you have the camcorder on. hope to hear back and thank you.
