your thinking of a diff phone the gs2 does not have a feat to stop the shutter sound you must root the phone and alter files to mute the sound it was locked because of asian perverts it can be fixed but there is no on off switch setting like your describing

  • tssk March 17, 2012 at 6:31 am

    @tssk *gear

  • tssk March 17, 2012 at 7:15 am

@liandriunreal are you kidding me? when you’re in camera mode, click the settings button that looks like a geat. Scroll down and it says Shutter sound “off/on.” Why would I tell lies..

  • tssk March 17, 2012 at 8:42 am

  • MrWellrun March 17, 2012 at 9:23 am

I just realised this also worked in the Tasker app with just turning off the notification volume with the same result…. I had some trouble with the Silent mode as the Battery still woke me up!!

  • MrWellrun March 17, 2012 at 9:38 am

Thanks for that great tip!!! I thought i would have to suffer insomnia when i got my new S2 ;-0

  • SoccerZD March 17, 2012 at 9:46 am

  • duivesteyn March 17, 2012 at 10:40 am

  • iguazo22 March 17, 2012 at 11:19 am

Oh boy, that’s one time consuming and expensive solution (you have to buy the app), Just go to to settings/sounds/notifications/ and Choose “silence” problem solved

  • fabmkk March 17, 2012 at 11:44 am

Tasker is $6.39 on the market.

  • WonderBear727 March 17, 2012 at 12:26 pm

  • anilvij March 17, 2012 at 5:03 pm

MAN there must be a way of doing this without paying £3.99!!

  • GalaxyS2Tips March 17, 2012 at 5:21 pm

@4stevee Thought I had replied to this. Apologies for the delay. The home screen is a live wallpaper called WP Clock. You can get it on from the market.

  • Spyah March 17, 2012 at 5:33 pm

I think you could also just install sound manager(free) and set schedule for notification sound.

  • 4stevee March 17, 2012 at 5:45 pm

Just wondering where you got the home screen…..with my eyes it would be ideal ! Thanks

“Apple passed the $400 billion market cap last week, and it is the world’s second most valuable company after Exxon Mobil Corp. Its 2007-debut of the iPhone effectively piloted the touchscreen smartphone market, meanwhile the iPad carved a new consumer electronics category for the industry, as well. Apple profits have soared with the iPhone 4s. With the iPhone 5, expect even these sales records to be shattered”

  • ThePendujatt7 March 17, 2012 at 6:48 pm

s2 is better than iphone 4

  • asrafnadya March 17, 2012 at 7:15 pm

  • mgerdes255 March 17, 2012 at 7:23 pm

Galaxy SII best mobile in world samsung rules apple sucks!!!!!

  • dialandroid March 17, 2012 at 7:33 pm

    @ahmadnadeem7

I will prefer Galaxy S2 as it gives me better flexibility and value for money

  • ahmadnadeem7 March 17, 2012 at 8:11 pm

uploader which one u think is better

  • dialandroid March 17, 2012 at 8:51 pm

@wafcarI this pink spot prob is fixed by firmware update… update ur firmware to greater than KG3

  • cpupark March 17, 2012 at 9:21 pm

Next time while making a comparison video or review of a phone, make sure to keep the screen time-out time to a higher value. Did you counted how many times you pressed the home button on the SGS2 in this video.

  • TooLOL4you March 17, 2012 at 10:05 pm

@dialandroid Strange I do have a S2 as well and mine never beats an iPhone 4 in terms of battery life…
dont get me wrongiu dont think you are lying I’d rather think samsung messed things up as everyone seems to have such big differences in battery life… (not only small ones which could be simply explained by different usage).

  • TheCrazyfruitbat March 17, 2012 at 11:04 pm

@wafcarI iphones hold their money simply coz they come out once a year where as android phones comes out all the time, making them lose value right away. But the value of the gs2 don’t make it a shit phone. Fact is apple users are thick, brain washed idiots, that pay over the odds for a device that is barley functional as a mp3 player. Can’t do the most basic things. Shit at the moment, you can’t even use the phone if you haven’t got a pc.lol

  • cwilbr March 17, 2012 at 11:09 pm

@TheCrazyfruitbat My new GS2 lasted 1 week after I bought it and I played a LOT of YT videos on it plus filmed videos at 720/1080p with LED light and internet browsing with games being played. I can connect to all the mobile/cell phones (except iPhones – their issue not the GS2.) Mine has 48GB storage capacity total. iProducts are so overpriced and overrated that only the ill-informed who follow marketing/advertisements everywhere will buy the iProduct… Hoping Apple fall soon like in 1990′s.

  • shaunogier March 17, 2012 at 11:50 pm

geezaas accent is on a mad one

  • istariphoenix March 18, 2012 at 12:25 am

    I. WANT. THIS. PHONE. MORE. THAN. AIR. Can’t wait to ditch my stupid non-innovative closed-platform iPhone 4 for this beautiful MONSTER phone!!!

  • TheCrazyfruitbat March 18, 2012 at 12:47 am

sgs2 is out selling iphone4 now and is rated the best phone in the world by apple fanboys from the gadget show in UK. Which i think they could no longer keep up that iphone 4 was best phone based on battery…..as the the iphone as a device don’t actually do much. Thats why it rely’s on the app store. Android phones like sgs2 have LOADS more features out the box that makes the phone top of the game without the need of app market. The app market is just a bonus feature, not a necessity.

  • TheCrazyfruitbat March 18, 2012 at 1:05 am

Think apple are lazy and greedy people who sell the same product over and over adding minor features from the last model and still limiting what you can do with YOUR device. Still no bluetooth file sharing to other phones, Can’t connect iphone4 to usb stereo unless you buy and extra dock that connects to the car stereo, then plug iphone to that. music quality Loads better on sgs2 then iphone 4 and sgs2 comes with MUCH better earphones.

  • TheCrazyfruitbat March 18, 2012 at 1:38 am

yet i don’t know a single person with iphone 4 who doesn’t need to charge it every day or every night. Now the fact that iphone 4 lasts 1 day, with no full multitasking, no live widgets, no flash content and only lasts 1 day. sgs2 and all android phones have ALOT more going on in the background and can either last the same amount of time as an iphone4 or longer. Iphone 5…has same style notification system as android now but hey, it needed it but the new iphone 5 will be just a small ipad2.

  • TheCrazyfruitbat March 18, 2012 at 2:04 am

Only reason some say sgs2 feels cheap is because it’s so light. The sgs2 has expandable memory. You can also connect usb dongles and external HDD via usb adapter lead ( so managing files can be done without the need of a pc) the phone has faster better web browser then iphone4. I got 3 days out my sgs2 on casual use. almost 2 days on heavy ish use. Like all android phone, it has FULL multitasking which can also cause battery drain. Now the iphone claims to have superior battery……

  • TheCrazyfruitbat March 18, 2012 at 2:35 am

Android market has more free apps then apple and i think by the end of august, i read will pass apple in the amount of apps it has in it’s store. However apps for iphone are of a better quality but thats not all apps as alot of apps for iphone are pure garbage.
I have the sgs2 and its far more superior then iphone 4 in every way. you can drag and drop any media content and it will play. Can connect to ANY other device with no limitations.

  • triple333pogo March 18, 2012 at 3:01 am

please stop comparing these two phones, you are humiliating Samsung Galaxy S2

  • dialandroid March 18, 2012 at 3:41 am

@ktroje – thanks for the suggestion, welcome it

and regarding iPhone or Apple, i never say iPhone is not good but there are few things which i don`t like in iPhone, 1st and most is restrictions like file sharing and second is battery.

For your information i have both the phone and Galaxy S2 stands more than double of iPhone 4….

  • dialandroid March 18, 2012 at 4:33 am

Well i will even iPhone 5 can`t beat galaxy S2 as per the info available till now…

what i got info on internet is iPhone 5 will have 8 MP cam, a dual core processor and much thinner and lighter than iPhone 4… So we have all these features in Galaxy S2 now only :)

  • yoassgoinhateme March 18, 2012 at 5:32 am

@wafcari…lack of apps? Are u serious lolz if u haven’t known by now android market is bigger then the app market for iphone. Plus you can customize a android phone much more then any iphone can. And the sg2 is not in anyway trying to copy the iphone it has surpassed it.! Please get off your knees and get Jobs cock out of your mouth for one second before you say anything. Your a sheep and follower and ignorant on your statements. I look forward to your ignorant reply. Blah blah blah…!

  • Mylenthes March 18, 2012 at 5:36 am

    I doubt it

  • Mylenthes March 18, 2012 at 6:31 am
